Pro-Palestinian Activists Demand Wall down

Pro-Palestinian Activists Demand Wall down Dozens of International pro-Palestinian activists marched towards the checkpoint at Bethlehem's border on July 10 and demanded the wall be torn down. The demonstrators hurled rocks at the barrier while others slammed their fists against the wall. Israeli soldiers closed the checkpoint gates as activists watched having arrived from different parts of the world to show their support for the Gaza-bound flotilla. Sundus: "I came here to support the Palestinians against the occupation, colonization and the wall that is horrible. It is a shame for all the Israelis who support what happens behind this wall and we are here to tell them that we do not support this and we want this wall to come down." Maha: "Palestinian organizations asked us to co-operate with them in order to show the world -- and also to find out for ourselves -- about their lives and what happens to them. We would see the siege and how they are living close to Jerusalem, which is an important city they are forbidden from entering." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called the pro-Palestinian activists as provocateurs during his weekly cabinet meeting. Mr. Netanyahu said Israel will continue to prohibit any attempts to challenge its authority. Netanyahu: "I would also like to make it clear that Israel will continue to foil any provocations or attempts to breach its borders whether by air, by land or by sea." Several European protestors attempted to enter the West Bank and landed at Ben-Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv on July 8.They did this because attempts to board the Gaza-bound flotilla were halted when Greece prevented the ship from sailing. Israeli authorities detained at least 120 travelers, suspected as pro-Palestinian activists. An Israeli police spokesman said the travelers will be deported. Israel has also refused to allow hundreds of other pro-Palestinian activists into the country by telling airlines coming from European airports that certain passengers will not be allowed to enter the country.
